Ford F-250 Super Duty
The Ford Super Duty ranked number one on the U.S. News & World Report list of best heavy-duty pickup trucks in 2012. The pickup received an overall score of 8.8, with a critics' rating of 9.5 working in its favor. The latest model has also received favorable reviews, with critics citing the strong towing capacity and choice of trim levels among the pickup's best features.
The base model has a powerful 6.2L engine 
and six-speed automatic, shiftable transmission. It also has an 8.2-foot long bed, giving you plenty of room to haul anything from groceries to project materials. The interior is available in your choice of cloth or vinyl. The Ford Super Duty is available in the following exterior colors:

Chevy Silverado HD
Chevy also made the U.S. News & World Report list of best heavy-duty trucks with its 2012 Chevrolet Silverado HD. The newest model is available in several body styles and gets good performance. However, 
critics have panned the Silverado for its outdated body style and weak engine. The price of the Silverado 1500 work truck starts at $23,590 and increases as you add optional features. The Silverado gets an
estimated 15 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway, making it a more fuel-efficient alternative to gas-guzzling pickups. Available features include:

Ford and Chevy sold more than 124,000 Super Duty and Silverado pickups combined in 2012, with Ford beating Chevy by more than eleven thousand units.
Runners-up
The RAM 2500 HD and GMC Sierra 2500 HD took the third and fourth spots on the list of 2012 best-selling, heavy-duty trucks. Toyota produces the Tundra; another popular heavy-duty truck. The Tundra has a 4.0L engine and gets an estimated 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. The model is available in nine exterior colors and your choice of cloth or premium cloth.
Others in the hunt
Kia, Honda and Hyundai do not manufacture heavy-duty pickup trucks, but Kia and Hyundai have produced commercial trucks and trucks used by the military. One truck produced by Kia is the KM500, which is a general utility truck. Hyundai also introduced the Xcient model at the 2013 Seoul Motor Show. This manufacturer expects to make seventeen thousand of these vehicles by 2017. Nissan does not currently manufacture any heavy-duty trucks.
