Mercedes has always been at the top of the heap of luxury German imports. Power, gas mileage, features and sticker price all play a role in the decision to buy a Mercedes and will be central to helpful Mercedes reviews. Luxury car buyers can use this price guide for the Mercedes lineup to determine the best model for them.

Reply! is a terrific resource for starting an investigation into which of the Mercedes prices is the right option. A new car is a substantial investment, and a new Mercedes even more so. Before making the decision to buy, it is essential to have the basics of each class of Mercedes available. Here, each model in the Mercedes lineup will be looked at in terms of Mercedes prices, performance and economy.

Mercedes C-Class

Mercedes prices: Mercedes C-ClassThe fuel economy of luxury German imports has traditionally ranged from mediocre to terrible. These cars have so much power under the hood and are weighed down by so many features that German engineers seem to lose sight of gas mileage as a major factor in deciding to buy a new car. The C-Class is the base model of Mercedes. Aimed at a more budget-conscious public, it's built to get 13 to 22 mpg in the city and 19 to 31 mpg on the highway. The comparable figures Mercedes E-Classfor the CL-Class are 12 to 15 mpg in the city and 18 to 24 mpg on the highway.

Mercedes E-Class

The E-Class Mercedes is a more upmarket option than the C- or CL-Classes and has the power under the hood to justify its higher price tag. Each model in the series can be had with any one of five engines, which range from a relatively conservative turbocharged 3.0-liter diesel V6 that's good for 210 hp to a monster 5.5-liter V8 with an optional performance package that will bring home a solid 518 hp at 5,500 rpm.

Mercedes S-Class

The S-Class is the flagship of the 2013 Mercedes lineup, boasting Mercedes Mercedes M-Classfeatures and a Mercedes price to match, all of it justified by the optional twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12, which tears along at an astounding 621 hp.

Mercedes M-Class

In a class all by itself is the Mercedes M-Class. Mercedes prices aside, few vehicles deliver the features of a luxury car with the general utility of an SUV. The Mercedes M-Class seats five comfortably and offers optional packages to maximize luxury, economy or power under the hood.

The area in which all of these vehicles come to grief is cost. No Mercedes is going to be cheap, but it would be nice to hear that Mercedes prices its budget model somewhat lower than the C-Class MSRP of $35,350. The higher the class of the new lineup, the higher the prices. The excellent S-Class can't be had for less than $92,350, while the M-Class can go as high as $96,100.
