You may not have to be a computer expert to succeed in every job position out there. However, you may be required to learn to use a computer, or at least the basics, in order to be considered for the position you seek. Local libraries

If you do not possess the basic computer knowledge necessary for the job position you desire, you can inquire about programs at your local library. Most public libraries offer programs that teach people basic computer skills using online programs and actual computers. These programs are often funded by the government, making them free to the public. Enrolling in one of these programs may be a great way for you to gain the skills you need for free.

Community colleges

If you do not find any programs available at your local library, or if you feel that the programs they offer will fail to meet your needs, you can consider taking basic computer courses at a community college. You do not have to be in pursuit of a degree to take classes at a community college since many offer continuing education courses. You must only be willing to pay the tuition for the credit hours you require.
