Compared to the prices of other pickups, the Suzuki Equator price is relatively affordable. A great midsize truck, this vehicle is easy to maneuver, well built and perfect for off-road excursions. Available in several different trim options, the Equator is great for hauling cargo and performing light-duty jobs.

Base package

The lowest Suzuki Equator price as suggested by the manufacturer is just under $18,000. At this price, you get the base model, which includes a four-cylinder engine, stability control, traction control and a manual transmission. Its gas mileage is approximately 19 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway.

Comfort package

Suzuki Equator priceFor a slightly higher Suzuki Equator price, you can get the Comfort package. At just over $19,000, this vehicle features air-conditioning and a CD player. If you opt for the Premium trim, you will pay a slightly higher price, but you will get upgraded upholstery, a sliding rear window and 16-inch alloy wheels as well as other features. If you prefer a V6 engine, you should choose the Sport or RMZ-4 model. With these trim levels, fuel economy ranges from 15 mpg to 19 mpg.

Performance

The performance of this vehicle varies depending upon which type of engine you choose to buy. If you opt for the 2.5-liter four-cylinder, you will get 152 horsepower, but with the V6 engine, you will get 261 horsepower. The torque increases by 10 pound-feet when you upgrade from the four-cylinder to the V6 engine. With the four-cylinder engine, you get 171 pound-feet of torque, and with the V6 engine, you get 281 pound-feet.

Safety

When it comes to safety, the Suzuki Equator earned the highest "good" score from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. Its score was based on the truck's roof strength and its ability to offset impact from the front and side. In testing, the Sport model with a crew cab exhibited exemplary braking ability, and it was able to stop in 122 feet after braking at a speed of 60 mph.

Interior

Suzuki Equator interiorThe extended cab is available on all the trim levels except the RMZ-4, but if you want a crew cab, you must choose the Sport or RMZ-4 model. The RMZ-4 with a crew cab has the highest cost, starting at just under $30,000. If you choose one of the extended cab models, you get reverse-opening doors and fold-up jump seats.

Although the rear seats are not ideal for long road trips, they are perfect for occasional use. Unfortunately, the rear seats of the crew cab are also not that comfortable. The front seats, however, are very comfortable, and the interior design is attractive.
