Fuel economy
You would think that the far smaller engine of the Acadia would translate into serious savings of gas, but that really isn't the case. The new Yukon gets 13 to 15 mpg in the city and 18 to 21 mpg on the highway, while the smaller Acadia only manages between 16 and 24 mpg. A difference, to be sure, but both of the Yukon's available engines are designed to go as easy on the gas as oversized V-8s possibly can.
Prices
Price is where the GMC Yukon and the Acadia really part ways. The Yukon is offered at between $41,185 and $59,105, while the base model Acadia retails for $34,050, with the higher trim package selling for only $47,945. Part of this seems to be a result of the decision to give the Acadia the smaller V-6, as well as a smaller options suite, but another factor driving the price difference is probably the more "family on a budget" demographic of the Acadia.
